macolanternAs Halloween draws near, I thought I’d share some things I found online to dress up your desktop for Halloween. Just the desktop, though, not a Mac-o-Lantern or anything (1 / 2) .

Note: Icons/Widgets/Apps for Mac only.

1. Desktop Background/Screensavers- Well, first things first. You’ll need a background picture. Here are some places you can look:

2. Icons- Icons aren’t necessary, but really add to the Halloween effect.

3. Widgets- There are, of course, widgets for everything. Halloween is no exception.

4. Applications- There aren’t as much of a wealth of applications for Halloween as, say, Christmas, but I did the best I could.

  • Mac-O-Lantern: Although it does hog your CPU when animated, (as the developer says, “It’s animated, for God’s sake!”) it’s a nice touch for when you aren’t doing any system-intensive work.

I’ll add to this list if I find anything as Halloween draws closer. Maybe I’ll do something similar for the other upcoming holidays. Let me know what you think, as always, in the comments.
